HLD22 has been associated with the following health conditions:
• Global developmental delay
o mildly impaired intellectual development
o marked motor impairment with limited or no ability to walk
o delay in speech development with dysarthria (articulation problems due to challenges with muscle control)
• Neurologic exam may show limb spasticity, weakness, or increased reflexes
• Vision problems may include far-sightedness, astigmatism and involuntary eye movements
• Brain imaging may show changes in myelination patterns
