Research collaboration

The research team of Professor Dr. Sarah Weckhuysen has a specific interest in the study of KCNQ2- and KCNQ3-related disorders. Along with fundamental research into the mechanisms of KCNQ2/3-related disorders, the group is aiming to dissect genotype-phenotype correlations and describe the natural disease evolution. The research team of Professor Dr. Maurizio Taglialatela, often in collaboration with that of Prof. Weckhuysen, is investigating the in vitro functional properties of variants found in patients with KCNQ2- and KCNQ3-related disorders, to identify genotype-phenotype correlations which may be exploited for personalized treatment approaches.
