There is no cure for sialidosis yet. Treatment focuses on managing symptoms. Medicines called antiseizure drugs can help control seizures. If someone feels depressed, doctors may also suggest antidepressants. Physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy can help with movement, talking, and daily activities based on the person’s needs. Some early research shows that special diets might also help, but this is not yet proven.
