All the reported genetic variants of DOCK7 gene are located in both alleles of the gene and affects production of DOCK7 protein in the central nervous system. This protein has a paramount function during genesis of brain structures in utero, mainly in migration of neurons to the outer part of cerebrum and cerebellum.
