EXOC6B

Molecular Characteristics for Families

EXOC6B is a part of the exocyst complex which has a crucial role in transportation and delivery of proteins during exocytosis. Exocyst complex is involved in regulation of various physiological process including morphogenesis, cell migration, primary ciliogenesis. EXOC6B interacts with specific protein present on the surface of secretory vesicles (formed at trans Golgi network) and facilitates transport and attachment of vesicle to the cell surface prior to fusion. Disruption of this process might result into skeletal phenotypes observed in individuals affected with SEMDJL3.
