RNU4ATAC gene mutations have been associated with Lowry-Wood syndrome (LWS), Microcephalic osteodysplastic primordial dwarfism, type I (MOPD1) and Roifman syndrome (RS). These syndromes have autosomal recessive inheritance which means that both copies of the gene must carry the mutations for the disease to occur.
