Treatment in a multidisciplinary team is recommended and is directed to the symptoms manifested by the patient. The long-term follow-up of the patients should be coordinated by a pediatrician with experience in intellectual disability or a developmental pediatrician and an ENT-specialist with focus on any overgrowth of adenoid tissue.
Special attention should be given to:
Overgrowth of adenoid tissue
Monitor the developmental progress, with special attention to language and motor development
Early recognition of behavior problems or autistic features
Unfortunately, currently there is no curative treatment available.
