COG4

Management

Management of COG4-CDG is supportive (standard therapy for seizures, physical therapy for intellectual disability and hypotonia, etc).

Management of Saul-Wilson syndrome is also supportive. It is important to correct several measurements to height (such as for example, correct the bone mineral density measured by DXA to the height, to avoid over diagnosis of osteopenia or osteoporosis). Monitoring for hearing loss should be performed at least on an annual basis. An ophthalmologic examination on annual basis is also recommended, to assess for the presence of cataracts and/or retinal degeneration. If night blindness develops, a night light might be beneficial.
