The dilated cardiomyopathy with ataxia syndrome (DCMA) is a devastating disease caused by two severe variants (mutations) in the DNAJC19 gene. Multiple genetic variants have been described worldwide but the largest patient population in the world is found in southern Alberta in Canada.
