FN1 GFND2

Clinical Characteristics

GFND2 is a kidney disorder. Individuals present with proteinuria in childhood, microscopic hematuria, hypertension, and progressive renal dysfunction. It can lead to end-stage renal disease in the second to the sixth decade of life. On pathology, glomeruli can appear enlarged and mesangial or subendothelial fibrillay deposits can be seen. Immunohistochemical studies are positive for fibronectin staining.
