The leading clinical features are a broad spectrum of seizure like absences, myoclonic seizures, atonic and generalized tonic-clonic seizures, focal unware and febrile seizures. The epilepsy starts between 1 to 12 months of age. The associated intellectual disability is mild to moderate. Other features like ataxia, hyperactivity or speech disturbance are possible but are not leading features. More benign forms are leaded by classical Juvenile Absence Epilepsy (JAE).
