The presentation of onychodystrophy, osteodystrophy, impaired intellectual development, and seizures syndrome (OORS) often overlaps with DOORS syndrome (deafness, onychodystrophy, osteodystrophy, mental retardation and seizures) without deafness. Onychodystrophy means anomalies of the nails and osteodystrophy means anomalies of the bones. OORS is transmitted in an autosomal recessive manner which means that both copies of the gene must carry the mutations for the disease to occur.
