Variants in the CHD3 gene cause Snijders Blok-Campeau syndrome (SNIBCPS) and are harmful to the proper development of the brain and several other parts of the body. Individuals may show autistic features and often have a large forehead. Exact numbers on the prevalence of the syndrome are unknown but prevalence is likely around 1 in a million.
